Property Description

This Hotel’s history dates back to 1925, when the original Pennsylvania Hotel was built. The beautiful hotel was a blend of classical and art deco attributes that resembled the Chicago style of commercial architecture. The Pennsylvania Hotel was in full swing from November 1st to May 1st, catering to all of the winter residents and tourists. Several guests of the hotel would bring their own furniture to decorate the rooms to make it feel more homey. The Pennsylvania Hotel always had a family feel to it, which in turn made people want to stay and keep coming back year after year.In October of 2005, the current owners demolition of the three story building on the north end started, along with the restoration of the seven story south end building. The entire restoration and rebuilding project took one full year. The hotel officially reopened as the Courtyard by Marriott on October 10, 2006.In October of 2013 this beautiful hotel underwent a full renovation of all common spaces including the lobby, café, first floor hallways, meeting space, and workout facility. The Bistro was added, boasting communal seating making it easier to network and socialize along with pod seating with individual televisions. The Bistro serves breakfast, dinner, and proudly brews Starbucks Coffee 7 days a week. Other additions include a full premium bar, 55’inch GO Board, Boarding Pass Station, and larger business center. Our hotel is surrounded by many of St. Petersburg's most prominent business and government offices. For leisure travel, our hotel is located near Tropicana Field (TAMPA BAY RAYS), BayWalk, Salvador Dali Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Chihuly, Mahaffey Theater, Jannus Live, North Shore Pool, Al Lang Stadium, several restaurants and a beautiful local beach.
